Current Volunteer Needs
Teacher Resource Center
Do you miss the magic of school supplies now that your out of the classroom? Join us in organizing manipulatives and classroom decor for other KC area teachers to use in their own classrooms!

Teacher Check-in and Check-out
Do you share our passion for supporting KC area teachers to get the supplies they need to succeed?
Join us in our Teacher Resource Center during shopping hours to greet teachers, help them find the things they need, and then get them checked out and on their way. There is nothing better than seeing a teacher with a big smile on their face and cart full of FREE supplies!
Available times:
Wednesday-Friday: 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am to 12:00pm / 12:00pm to 3:00pm
(Only the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.)

Materials Processing and Pricing
Everything here at Scraps needs sorted, packaged, and priced!
Use our volunteer instruction sheets to get materials like paper clips and paint brushes ready to go out into the Teacher Resource Center or the Creative Reuse Center store.
There is something new coming through every day to work on!

Donations Sorting
Do you see a pile of random donations and cannot wait to get your hands in there to see what treasures are inside?
Join us in the exciting world of sorting through daily donations. Use our organized system of bins to sort each items into their categories so they can get moving down the line and get processed and priced!

Fabric Rolling
If you love fabric then this department is perfect for you!
Help us measure, roll, and price all different kinds of fabric for our retail store. It's so fun to see all the different kinds of fabrics and make some friends with fellow textiles enthusiasts!

Notions
If you have a passion for sewing and all the lovely little things that come with that, then join us in our notions department!
Volunteers help get everything sorted, packaged, and priced. From sewing needles, to embroidery hoops, there's so many treasures to find!

Yarn
If you've never met a skein of yarn you didn't love, this volunteer opportunity is for you!
Volunteers help tidy skeins and balls of yarn and price them for our retail store.

Kits Assemby
Help us use bits and bobs from around Scraps to put together educational and FUN kits for kids!
Tasks can include, cutting pieces of paper to size, twisting piper cleaners together, making bundles of yarn, filling bags with each item, and more.

Cashier
Are you a people person who loves talking all things arts and crafts?
Come volunteer at our front counter checking out people's purchases and learning about all the creative ways people are using scraps!

Custodial
We are a very small team in a very large warehouse and it's a challenge keeping everything clean!
Help dust, sweep, vacuum, and tidy the facilities so we can have a comfortable place for volunteers, teachers, and customers.

- Youth ages 14 and up can volunteer independently.
- We have lots of volunteer opportunities to choose from.
- Volunteer Wednesday-Saturday
- Time slots: 10:00am-12:00pm, 12:00pm-2:00pm, 2:00pm-4:00pm or 4:00-6:00pm
Volunteer in our Teacher Resource Center:
- Wedenesday - Friday: 3:00pm to 6:00pm
- Saturday: 9:00am to 12:00pm or 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Great opportunity for teens to get their service hours! (Ages 14+)
